Being a professional I have fallen into the trap of relying too much on my experience to launch a website. I’ve launched hundreds of websites, I know what I’m doing… famous last words. Regardless of how many websites I have helped launch over the years, there were times I would find I missed a small detail that negatively impacted the user experience.
Hosting: Make sure the hosting provider has been chosen and server space has been allocated.
Domain Name: Make sure your domain name has been purchased and is on auto-renew or purchased for multiple years.
SSL: Having your site setup on a SSL has become a standard that helps build trust with your customers.
Analytics: There are a number of tools available to help understand how visitors interact with your site. Make sure this is setup at launch.
Site Backup: Between site hacking and server failures make sure you have a backup plan in place.
Favicon: Ensure your branding across bookmarks, page tabs, mobile and desktop icons
